Introduction

In order to arouse college students’ passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, display the educational achievements of universities and colleges in this respect, and create a platform to link college students’ projects to social investment and industrial parks, the 4th China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will be held from March to October 2018 for teams of students from universities and colleges in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

1. Theme of the Competition

2. Contestants:

Contestants are divided into the Creative Ideas Group, the Start-ups Group, and the Growth Group.

·         Creative Ideas Group: A project shall be creative or have a well-shaped product prototype or service model, which has not completed industrial or commercial registration by May 31, 2018 (inclusive of the day). The applicant shall be the leader of a team and a student of an ordinary institution of higher education (the student may be an undergraduate student, a college student or a postgraduate student but not an in-service student).

·         Start-ups Group: The period of industrial and commercial registration of a project shall not exceed three years (registered after March 1, 2015), and the project shall not have received more than one round of equity investment from organizations or individuals. The applicant shall be the legal representative of a start-up company and a student of an ordinary institution of higher education (the student may be an undergraduate student, a college student or a postgraduate student but not an in-service student), or a student who graduated no more than 5 years ago (the student may be an undergraduate student, a college student or a postgraduate student who graduated after 2013 but not an in-service student). The legal representative shall not be acknowledged if the representative is changed after the notification of the competition is announced.

·         Growth Group: The period of industrial and commercial registration of a project shall exceed three years (registered before March 1, 2015); or the period of industrial and commercial registration of a project does not exceed three years (registered after March 1, 2015), but the project has received more than two rounds of equity investment from organizations or individuals. The applicant shall be the legal representative of a company and a student of an ordinary institution of higher education (the student may be an undergraduate student, a college student or a postgraduate student but not an in-service student), or a student who graduated no more than 5 years ago (the student may be an undergraduate student, a college student or a postgraduate student who graduated after 2013 but not an in-service student). The legal representative shall not be acknowledged if the representative is changed after the notification of the competition is announced.

3. Agenda

·         Registration (From March to August)

Participating teams can visit the official website of the National College Students Entrepreneurship Service (cy.ncss.cn) for registration. The registration system will be open from April 15, 2018 to August 15, 2018 (deadline: 24:00).

·         The Finial (tentatively from October 19 to 21)

The Competition Review Committee will make an online review of entries, from which the best ones will be selected for on-site competition.

4. Requirements for Projects

·         “Internet +” Modern Agriculture: including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery;

·         “Internet +” Manufacturing: including intelligent hardware, advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, biomedicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, new materials, and the arms industry;

·         “Internet +” Information Technology Services: including the artificial intelligence technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the cyberspace security technology, big data, cloud computing, utilities software, social media, media portals, and corporate services;

·         “Internet +” Cultural and Creative Services: including radios, films and TVs, design services, culture and arts, tourism and leisure, art dealing, advertising, conventions and exhibitions, animation and entertainment, and sports;

·         “Internet +” Social Services: including e-commerce, consumption and living, finance, financial and legal affairs, real estate and residence, efficient logistics, education and training, healthcare, transport, and human resources;

·         “Internet +” Social Entrepreneurship: non-profit entrepreneurship aimed at creating social value.

Entries are not limited to the area of “Internet +”. Various types of projects of innovation and entrepreneurship are all welcome here in this competition. Participants can choose one type according to their own backgrounds.
