Celebrated 69th Anniversary of Founding of P.R. Ch

  To celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 12th anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Youth Federation, and the second session of the 4th Congress of Federation Members, a banquet and a conference were held. Ms. Xu Ting, Director of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., Mr. Kong Chi Meng, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR government, Mr. Mok Chi Wai, President of the Macao Youth Federation, Mr. Kou Ngon Seng, Director-General of the Macao Youth Federation, Mr. Wong Seng Hong, Chief Supervisor of the Macao Youth Federation, and additionally over 100 Council Members, group members and individual members attended the conference and banquet.


  Mr. Mok Chi Wai, President of the Macao Youth Federation, presided over the Congress of Federation Members, and Mr. Kou Ngon Seng, Director-General of the Macao Youth Federation, made a summary report on the meetings and activities of the past year. Mr. Lam Ieng Kit from the Treasury Division reported on the financial situation, and Chief Supervisor Mr. Wong Seng Hong also put forward his opinions on the federation affairs. According to the report, the Macao Youth Federation held and attended over 200 diversified activities. Apart from daily operations, the Macao Youth Federation actively engaged in policy research, including Public Opinion Poll Program and Training for Macau Youth to Discuss on Government Issue so as to improve the youth’s knowledge of society. Meanwhile, the Macao Youth Federation organized diversified forums, exchanges, training and competitions, including the Macao Youth Seminar on the Two Sessions, large-scale economic forums, and Youth Tours along the Belt and Road Routes, aiming to enhance young people’s competitiveness. It also organized young people to participate in community services, including volunteering, charity and poverty alleviation, aiming to cultivate young citizens.


  In his speech at the dinner, Mr. Mok Chi Wai remarked that with the efforts of the people throughout the country, China enjoyed rapid economic growth and had made tremendous social and economic achievements. The fate of Macao is closely linked to that of the motherland, and its future development is also based on its increasingly close ties with the motherland. In the future, Macao will further engage in the development of the country. Against this backdrop, the Macao Youth Federation never forgets why it started, and continues to unite and serve the youth. It will also care about and participate in the development of various causes in the country, and play an active role in supporting the Macao Government’s governance according to law. In the future, the Macao Youth Federation will take “being with youth” as its core, cultivate the Macao youth, and promote their exchanges with youth from all circles of life in mainland China for the purpose of deepening young people’s knowledge of the country and strengthening their love for the country and Macao.


  Mr. Wu Jiang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., and his assistant Zhou Quan also attended the banquet.
